Recital FAQ

Is participation in the yearly recital mandatory?

Our yearly recitals give each student a chance to show their family and friends how far they have progressed throughout the year. While participation is not mandatory, we highly recommend taking part in this very rewarding experience.

Can we purchase additonal tickets to the recital?

Yes. Your recital fee includes four tickets but you may purchase more. Please check our recital page for ticket prices.

How long is the recital?

Each recital is approximately two and half hours long.

Can we leave the recital after my child has danced.

No. For the safety of all performers, a security guard is placed outside of the dressing room area. He is instructed not to allow any adults other than staff and group moms into the dressing room areas. We love our students and want to keep them safe!

Are we allowed to video tape or take pictures during the show?

You may video tape from the back of the theater during dress rehearsals only. Absolutely no flash photography is allowed as it will distract the performers. You may take pictures during the stage/dress rehearsals only. A professional DVD of the recital will be available for purchase.

Am I allowed backstage to check on my child?

No. Only group moms and staff are allowed in the dressing room and backstage area. If you feel that your child needs you to be with him/her you will may inquire about being a group mom. In the case of an emergency, we will find you.

Why does my child need to wear makeup during the recital?

Stage lighting can "wash out" the facial features of performers especially on pictures and video. The makeup is to help prevent this from happening.
